About Blue Oxen Associates

Blue Oxen Associates is a think tank/consultancy devoted to studying and improving high-performance collaboration. We are particularly interested in studying knowledge processes -- how we share and acquire knowledge, and how we use tools to augment our abilities to inform, to learn, and to collaborate. (47T)

To accomplish these goals, we: (47U)

Perform multidisciplinary research on collaboration, focusing especially on identifying patterns of high-performance collaboration, measuring collective intelligence, and understanding how tools and methodologies coevolve. (47V)
Host collaboratories on an evolving technology infrastructure based heavily on computer pioneer Doug Engelbart's ideas about collaborative tools, and facilitate collaboration and knowledge capture within these communities. (47W)
Offer a variety of consulting services for organizations needing to improve their collaborative processes and strengthen their communities. (47X)

We aim to be both a world class research institute, and a world class practitioner of our own research. Our collaboratories are a central component of this strategy. Not only do we share knowledge through traditional, top-down methods, such as publications and seminars, we give our members the opportunity to experience this knowledge first-hand through our collaboratories. (47Y)

We view our community members as partners in our mission. Members are encouraged to contribute their knowledge and experiences to an open, dynamic knowledge repository, which anyone can access. We view our communities as open forums for learning, experimenting, creating, and improving. (47Z)
